The Sean Patrick French Memorial Scholarship Fund was created by the family of Sean Patrick French following his tragic death as a passenger in an underage drunk driving car wreck on January 1, 2002 and is administered by the Berkshire Taconic Community Foundation. Sean was a popular junior at Chatham High School, an honor roll student and a record-setting runner. The Scholarship Fund, in addition to the scholarships for Chatham High School seniors, also supports scholarships for Cross Country runners selected as the Good Sport Award winners by Section II coaches, and the Love of Running Scholarships awarded to residents of Columbia County who participated in two years of Cross Country or Track & Field. Past recipients and the Fund, can be found here.
